Has anyone heard or seen any episodes from this series? I have about 15 on my computer, and I think its great. I believe that its produced by the same people who did Cowboy Bebop. Its about two samurai warriors, on named Jin, the other named Mugen. Jin is the more layed back wandering samurai with swordskills that cannot be touched. Mugen is more of the hot headed type who doesn't care for honor, and would do anyhting for money and power. If you like swordfights and action, this would be your anime.

I just started watching Samurai Champloo after it premiered on Adult Swim. From what I've seen thus far, it seems cool. It's sorta like this Cowboy Bebop meets Kenshin meets j-pop kinda thing. At first, I thought Mugen was kinda like Spike (No, not because of the voice), until I noticed his attitude. I mean, Spike kinda cares for human life, but Mugen he's such a total punk (which is so cool). Jin is like the quiet guy with a dark past or something. They threw in a girl named Fuu. She's looking for some samurai "who smells of Sunflowers." She's kindhearted but has no really distinguishing attributes. I hope she has a deep story, or maybe she was thrown in to keep Jin and Mugen together. Please, don't let her be worthless!

i like Samurai Champloo, its a good action anime and has pretty interesting characters to go along with it. what i dont like is that the story is going nowhere. i seen the first entire session and theres really no plot at all. i really do hope that it picks up, but i really shouldnt worry seeing how this anime was created by the same guy who made Cowboy Bebop. its a great anime overall imo

the series wasnt bad...when it was good it was really good, but in parts...it failed to translate the 'journey-man pacing' into something genuinly enjoyable...and it was hard to care about the main story arc 'fuu's quest' when our two anti-hero's failed to bother, just because they don't care most the way thourgh, the implementation of the narrative should make this interesting to the spectator at the very least...

still the amount of quotable one-liners is amazing, add a fitting soundtrack as its back beat and some brilliantly choreographed sword fights, you have a pretty fashionable samurai series...

if this anime was a student...it would get all the ladies in the school lol.

I have three DVDs of Samurai Champloo and am just waiting to be bothered to get the final one.

It's a great series. The fighting in it is incredible (Mugen's breakdancing FTW) and the animation, drawing style and (at points) comedy value are probably some of my favourites from any anime I've seen.

And - I shall point this out - but contrary to normal views the dub is incredibly well-done; the voices are amazingly acted and I can't fault the series in any way.

I've kind of.. fallen out of the anime circut as far as watching shows and staying with series. But even back a few years ago when I was more into it, I never was too into watching lots of animes and keeping up with all the episodes, I was always more into the art and artists aspect of anime. But this was one of the few series I watched all the way through, and I really really loved it. It's probably my favorite one. The whole style of it was great, it was really edgy and all the characters had some kind of a chip on their shoulder, and that made it really interesting for me.

And I'm the first person to admit that I don't like anime soundtracks or music, or J-Pop/J-Rock artists, but the music for this show was great. It fit the series perfectly, I've still got alot of the music.

I used to say my favorite character was Jin, but after awhile, I think I sort of like Mugen more. I love all the recklessness. x3

The breakdancing was what totally caught my eye. I was almost going to overlook it until I saw some trailers.

Following my last post (I was cut off) there are very few animes that have a 'unique' drawing style as well as a uniquely well-done voice cast and soundtrack.

I kinda agree with Tsuna as in I don't go out my way to watch anime any more, despite having a lot of DVDs I haven't watched yet. >.<; but I have loved this series all the way through what I've watched because I, personally, see no way it could be improved.... besides maybe more episodes XD. but that would push it.

I really like the design of the series. The characters really look different than any anime I've seen so far. The whole series is a bit hip-hop-stylish and I think that's awesome, though I'm not a hip hop person, I just think it's really original in some way.
Some episodes were a bit boring though, but in overall, I think Samurai Champloo is really good and funny.
My favourite character used to be Jin the first 15 episodes or so... but then I started to like Mugen more. I can't decide x3

I really like this anime, I have seen almost every episode. One of my favorites is when the group comes across this woman that has to fight and kill in order to keep her son alive. She is one amazing fighter and almost kills Mugen, but it comes to a tragic end for her. This anime has a lot of intense action but just enough humor. I would recommend it to anyone.

This had a great and unique spin on things with some heavy stylisation in points an odd yet somehow fitting use of a few modern references here and there and a very impressive use of many real events and characters from Japanese history and mythology. Even an episode that made a dig at the americans for not letting japanese teams into the Baseball world series at the point it was made (though I belive they now are) If you are looking for something unlike everything else you've watched with a slightly similar story base, this is it.

My favorite among samurai anime (along with Kazemakase: Tsukikage Ran). I really love fast-paced fight scenes where you don't explain anything. It's like how they do samurai movies. Usually it's just a few moves, the enemy stops moving, then falls over dead or something. It's just plain cool.

That, and the story of Samurai Champloo is awesome. The characters are all pretty interesting too. Fuu is really cute, Jin is lol and so is Mugen.

Also how they sorta mix it into current urban (particularly hip-hop) culture is awesome. DJing, graffiti, Mugen is a breaker, there's a guy that beatboxes, and they even have a baseball episode.

Definitely my favorite among samurai anime, and one of my favorites of all time among any kind of anime.

Yeah, it's really great! I'm up to Vol. 3 now, and it's getting better and better! Mugen/Jin/Fuu's interaction is hilarious. The show also has a good sense of when to be funny and when to be serious.

I don't understand how so many can enjoy an anime that has no depth of story, or character. I mean, only four or five of the episodes connected to each other. The others were completely random. I've not read the manga, but most of it is like filler, whether it is or not.

Not only that, the fighting in it is boring. The only good fight is Mugen and Jin.

Very unique, the fight scenes are incredible. It might have a pretty shallow storyline but it's a blast to watch, comedy, action, drama, yup 5 out 5 on my rating!!

Nothing was ever made passed episode 26. It just had an open ending, as many series happen to have these days.

Samurai Champloo is THE best anime ever made. Mugen is one of my favorite characters from any game, anime, anything of all time. The show has a very awesome atmosphere, with some great fighting scenes and even though there's only 26 episodes, there's a very deep and captivating story even though the story strays away from the main story for some time.

But yeah, Samurai Champloo is the best.

This is way up EXCELLENT Anime. I have watched every episode!!! And I am watching them thar episodes in rerun mode! And I hates reruns normaly. Lots of sword fighting, lots of Char development, lots of suspense, lots of tenderness and joy. Oh WOW!!! :-)

I was just talking about this show with someone at work last night.

Its a great show of course, but all the stand alone episodes might be a slight turn off to those who need the plot to be constantly moving along. I didnt care because Mugan offered me plenty of laughs.

I need to get the last four volumes before I cant find them at all.

lol this is definately one of my favs...I actually prefered Jin and Fuu over Mugen, although theyre all cool characters.


Out of the 26 (cant remember if it was 25 or 26 eps lol and i have the box set at home:rolleyes: ) i think there was only 1 episode that i REALLY didnt like. It was the one about the zombies digging for some treasure for 500yrs or something; towards the end of the series i think? cant remember exactly,its been a while since ive seen it:laugh: But yeah,that was the only ep that i didnt enjoy watching.

It was great! The animation was meant for awesomeness *\(^o^=)/* I've watched all episodes of Samurai Champloo....I think it's pretty nice. The thing that annoys me is that they went through all the journey just to see Fuu's dead old man ;__; And, the manga had only 2 volumes =_=; I was hoping for more....lol ^_^; "mmaaa--na."

It's a great series. The drawin' style and (at points) comedy value are likely some o' me favourites from any anime I've seen.

I must say, this series was excellent for me. "Battle Cry" (Opening Theme) had a nice beat to it, too. I always loved Jin, no matter what.

This is really one of the best Ive ever seen, hell Ill go ahead and call it a classic. It had fighting, jokes, and plenty of edo in it. Mugen is the man, dont care what you say. Blasphemous fighting styles that work are my weakness XD
