Actually...it's like that with a couple of the series, if I recall correctly. It implies quite heavily just who he misses/cares about more. I think they just never come out and say it because they want all the other fans that are for him getting with one of the other girls to stay being fans of the show and continue watching it... Heh. ^_^;

Tenchi+Ryoko=LOVE. End of story. She really loves him and deserves him. Ryoko has never had anyone to love her and Tenchi is her soulmate!!!
Aeka is stuck up and because she is a princess, she could get almost any guy in the universe! So why Tenchi? Even if it is a Jurai tradition, it's just wrong to marry relatives...
If I had to pick someone else, it would be Washu. Just because she's a GENIUS.
As for the other girls, they don't have a chance.

Well, personally I'm going to go ahead and say that I've always rooted for Ryoko.

In Tenchi Muyo O.V.A. I think that we can see that Tenchi and Ryoko are obviously closer. It's all in the details ladies and gentlemen. True Tenchi sometimes acts like he does not know what to do when Ryoko comes on so strong, but when compared with how he is with Ayeka, you can see that he is mostly respectful and caring of her as a friend. With Ryoko its like he does not know how to properly handle his emotions. Another story element that goes along way towards putting them together is the fact that Ryoko watched Tenchi grow up, she was there every step of the way and fell in love with him along the way. To her Tenchi is not a prize or some symbol of proper royal procedure, or even an interesting science experiment (even though I do love Little Washu) No, to Ryoko Tenchi is someone whom she loves as a person and who she is willing to die for at a moments notice. Plus if you read the "No need for Tenchi" manga series, which continues from the end of the O.V.A. You see many instances where Tenchi goes all out to save Ryoko, defying all that is possible to do so, and the same is true of Ryoko.

In The Tenchi Universe series they stretch it out a bit more but you can still see the bonds that are there. Look at the dimensional jumping episodes. In every instance it is Ryoko and Tenchi that are connected. Even in Ayeka's fantasy world Tenchi goes to Ryoko and is with her instead of being married to Ayeka. And in Ryoko's world, after Washu tells them that they have to want to come home Ryoko sacrifices the fantasy world she had because she loves Tenchi enough to want to be with him in the real world, where both of them want it. And I think you can tell at the end of that episode that Tenchi does feel for Ryoko. Also add to that the ending episodes. Ryoko does go all out just to get Tenchi where he needs to go to save Ayeka her rival. She knew that Tenchi had to save her and could not live with himself if he did not try, so she put her self on the line to help him do that. And at the end of the series Tenchi refused Ayeka and when Ryoko returned it was obvious that the feelings they had for each other were there.

In Tenchi Tokyo... Ok.. I hate Tenchi Tokyo. They neutered everyone in that show. No one had the power that they were supposed to. On top of that they changed the dynamic of the group. Before Tenchi cared for each and everyone of those girls and thought of them as family. But in Tokyo he tried everything he could to get away from them, get rid of them, and all out ignore them. That's just not Tenchi. So Personally I wash my hands of that series, I just don't know what the creators were thinking.

I also agree that the movies all show a firm connection between Tenchi and Ryoko, as stated earlier Ryoko was the one person that Tenchi kept remembering through the haze in Tenchi Muyo forever.

So there's my peace on that. I've heard tell that the next Tenchi series to come out will finally end it all and Tenchi will choose one. My money is definitely on Ryoko.

Now onto another matter. In Tenchi GXP, who the heck are the other people that are popping up at the Misaki house in that? It seems like there are a lot of new periphery characters in it. what I'm wondering is.. is there a series other than the O.V.A., Universe, or Tokyo? One that has not come out over here but has been aired in Japan but for some reason is going to come out over here after GXP? If anyone can give me the heads up on that I'd appreciate it. I can only assume you mean Noike (sp?), the random woman who appears in Episode 17, "Seina and Tenchi." She becomes an important character in the all-new third season of the Tenchi Muyo OVA. If you have not heard, the brand new 6 (or so) episode series picks up after the OVA episode 13 "Here Comes Jurai" and continues the story. Episode 4 of the third season (aka Episode 17) is out now in Japan. Anyway, since GXP and OVA 3 take place in roughly the same time, we see her at the Masaki house. If you are refering to characters that show up after GXP episode 17, I cannot help you, as that is as far as I have seen.

The 3rd OVA season is already liscensed and wil be dubbed as soon as the series is complete in Japan, some say around a September release date. The company that wil be releasing it is... FUNimation....

This is solely my opinion, but that fact makes me sad.Wow, I did not know there was a continuation on the OVA. Well I'm definitely looking forward to that. But I agree that if it is Funimation releasing it... well personally I think they need to work a deal to get the original voice actors that did the crew in the previous OVA and Tenchi Universe. Because quite frankly... the voice actors they got for them in GXP.. really annoyed me.

I agree, though I tend to watch GXP only in subtitles, as I do not like how they handled the overal dub. From what I have heard, those voices were fillers so they could finish GXP. FUNimation is trying to get the original voice actors to come back, but it may prove difficult after 5 or so years since Pioneer dubbed the originals. We will have to wait and find out.

Yeah. Lets face it, Ryoko and Ayeka actually TRIED to do like the shojo mangas they read, Sasami however has made herself indespensible to Tenchi as a cook. Ryo-ohki is terrific but non-human. Ayeka, human-looking, but stupidly naieve. Ryoko? I think she's like energy personified (creepy). Mihoshi? Too ditzy. Washu? 20,000 years old. No thanks. That leaves Sasami as Tsunami. Works nicely.

You're forgetting one key thing... That's only in ONE of the Tenchi series timelines. One. Please keep in mind that everyone is related different, meets up differently, and is something different (for the most part) in each different Tenchi series. Ryoko goes from being something created by Washu (and technically her daughter) to being a space pirate who hires Washu (and is not related to her at all)... They all vary depending on the series.

Also, I will once again direct your attentions to the movie Tenchi Forever... There is NO question, none, who he ends up with. If you watch that and still think "hmm...maybe Sasami..." then you did not really watch it. I'd also like to direct your attentions to the manga, which is HEAVILY Tenchi/Ryoko.

And how in the world do you come up with Ryoko being energy personified? She's a lazy, perverted lush. The only things she has a lot of energy for are Tenchi and obtaining either booze or money.

I also think you should read SGI's rant thread here in the Romance forum... You'll see just why it would be rather disasterous for the show if he ended up with Sasami. You'd be hooking him up with the Belldandy-esque character...and that's just so totally over-done, boring, and frustrating.

...And i think its really coo. It says that it continues after the whole story of Tenchi Muyo and i really wanted to know if anyone else knows if there are any more books in this series. if anyone can tell me, id be much abliged. :D

Thanks for the support Die Tod von Euch! Anywho, to make things clear for those who do not know the fuller story, Washu in the OVA is claimed to be at least 20,000 years old. As such, so is Tsunami (the Jurian tree/ship). Then Tsunami bonds with Sasami to make one entity. The "Universe" storyline has the characters in a more "natural" age span, with no complicated twists in Sasami's character like the OVA.

Tenchi in Tokyo wasn't cancelled. It only had a certain number of episodes to begin with, so when they showed them all over here, that was it. There was no more to show. The end of its run. Yay for it.

And you can buy Tenchi stuff the same place you can buy ANY ANIME STUFF. I'm really getting tired of seeing people ask where they can buy things. You're on the internet right now, aren't you? Google it, for crying out loud. Go to some online movie store like suncoast.com or something. Jeez, is it REALLY that difficult?

I would have to say this is my favorite romantic/comedy. I always had trouble deciding who is better for tenchi ayeka or Ryoko. They both have things tenchi doesnt like and things he does like. but i decided Ryoko is right for tenchi.

Moms are the first females everyone (Hopefully everyone...http://animegalleries.net/bbs/images/smilies/sweatdrop.gif http://animegalleries.net/bbs/images/smilies/laugh.gif ) come in contact with from the very beginning. But back to the previous question. I was saying it's very likely the type of girl Tenchi prefers is the type of his mom was. For example, Tenchi really doesn't seem to be into party girls like the image Ryoko projects most of the time. Tenchi does seem to like the type of person Ryoko really is deep inside but that's another story.

I could be wrong here, but I don't recall him even knowing his mother that well, save for that one movie where he went back in time and met her when she was in high school. And no, not everyone is like that. Take my boyfriend for example. His mother is short, an elementary school teacher and loves kids. I'm tall, hate children, and pretty much don't ressemble her in any way, shape, or form.

You're trying to be Freudian in your logic... While Freud had some interesting ideas, you also have to keep in mind that not all are taken seriously by every person in psychology, and that psychology itself is a field simply filled with theories and nothing solid. Also, this is an anime, not real life. And Tenchi is not Shinji, who has an obvious Oedipus complex.

Tenchi does have an image, true or not, of the type of person his mother is. And he seem to like that kind of people. I am not sure whether he was attracted to his mother as a woman (doubtful in my opinion) but I never said he was attracted to his mother. I said he seemed to be attracted to some of the characteristics that his mother projected (imagined or guessed).

He honestly likes all the girls in his harem... I mean house. Whether he is romantically attracted to them... that's still pretty vague or somewhat undetermined. There is a chance of him hitching with Ryoko but if he does I seriously doubt that he would do so because he enjoys her party girl attitude that involves heavy drinking and partying. From what was shown so far Tenchi simply isn't into that sort of things. Of course, I'm basing this from what was shown so far... though I doubt the creators would deviate from his general characteristics anytime soon.

Speaking of Shinji... One heck of a kid if you ask me. I've seen few anime male characters who cried so much save maybe Kira in Gundam SEED. And he did seem to have a thing for his deceased mother and something for Rei... who was his mother/sister (was it?). Ick.

I love how everything ends up tying together in each series..I think my favorite series was Tenchi Universe tho. I loved the ending. *Tenchi + Ayeka fan* And my favorite character is Sasami, I like the playful innocence she caries, and how she hides all these secrets from her past. <3

Just kidding. Well, maybe. I like Tenchi myself. I've seen the movies, and watched Tenchi Muyo, Tenchi Universe, and Tenchi in Toyko. I can't help but enjoy the fact that ONE guy winds up living with SIX girls from outer space,,,, and they all WANT him. I like all the characters alot, but I fell in love with Ryoko when she wore that scarf in her hair, and the tanktop. Looking like the girl next door. I really can't name any characters I didn't like though. I wish I could be in his shoes though.

I liked ryooki. It reminds me of a cross between a cat and a bunny. Then it can turn into a girl or a spaceship. I agree with therebel (pervert that he is) that it would be nice to be in Tenchi's shoes. I watched some of the no need for Tenchi series (Tenchi Muyo translated). As much as I liked watching the show though, I never really got to see a lot of it. >_< Oh, I also like Little Washu.

Washu would be my favorite character. She's a flippin' super genius! She turned a closet into a huge lab with many crazy inventions, all of which I would personally love to own.

However, I don't think Tenchi should end up with any of the girls. Tenchi has only one remarkable thing about him: the fact he has a pony tail. Each of the girls have such difference and colorful personalites' it would be quite the bore to think of one of them marrying Tenchi and lviing happily ever after. But if I was forced to choose, I would choose Mihoshi. She and Tenchi are both so naive and free spirited, it would be kinda cute for them to live the rest of their lives intheir cuteness and naiveity.

But she wouldn't be right for Tenshi....no not her....Ryoko reminded me of Helga from Hey Arnold a lot but she blatantly told Tenshi that she loved him. I think they would make a good couple. Not counting Tenchi GXP I personally like the looks, personality, and style of Sasami Masaki in Tenchi Muyo OAV and Kiyone Makibi in Tenchi Universe. There is nothing that spectacular about Tenchi Masaki but he is very well rounded and adaptable to any given situation. Which is more that could be said for most men or women. I wish they'd planned and polished the various series better for with a bit more though and effort the Tenchi series could have been a lot more impressive.

I haven't seen Tenchi Muyo in YEARS.. How amazing. I forgot all about it... I liked the crazy haired one.. I think that is Ryoko. :D I <3 her attitude.. I hope I have the right one.. lol And the little creature with WHOA big ears? Soo cute! My friend could draw her/him/it/whatever free hand. She was one of those could-always-draw-anything-like-WHOA-good-without-classes kind of artist. Lol a lot of my friends were like that... I am now,.. but I had to work at it. No, Tenchi Muyo was neat. I remember liking that show a lot. I only saw a few episodes though and the princess annoyed me.. That much I know. And the little blue haired girl with the things on her face? I kept wanting to punch her for some reason. LoL. I never could understand much of those story lines though. =/ and the genius was my FAVORITE. Numero Uno! :D

tenchi muyo is an awesome show and my favorite character would either be mihoshi because shes funny lols or Sasami but shes kawaii. But i also like washu T_T cuz shes creative and that one episode when she clone her self and she puts a ribbon on lols.

This is one of the greatest anime's I have ever seen. It is so funny, romantic, dramatic. Filled with action, and plot twists, and inter diminsion traveling. I give it thumbs up.
And its so obvious that he will get with Ryoko. And if he doesn't I will be very upset and make a law suit for the creator for emotional damage!!!

I love Tenchi Muyo. It's the first anime that I ever saw, this user name is to pay homage to my gateway drug into the wonderful world of anime.

My favorite spin-off has to be Tenchi in Tokyo. Sakuya's story is sooooo sad, but I don't want to give away any spoilers to those who haven't seen it yet. Of course, if you ask me who should end up with Tenchi, Ayeka or Ryoko, hands down Ryoko. I think those two relate to each other better, and they're not even blood-related like Ayeka is to Tenchi.

But my favorite gal out of the whole group is Kiyone. Yeah, she gets screwed over with Mihoshi as her partner, but damn a woman that's hard working and hard working and has the patience to put up with a ditzy partner, wins my heart.

I guess that's all for now, being the Tenchi Fan I am, I'll post more into this thread. I do hope there are other Tenchi Fans like me out there lol.

Though the answer is as clear as Bush's vision I always wonder who Tenchi will really end up with. It depends on the series of course but I wonder if he'll settle for just one girl or end up with more or less all of them. It is not beyond the realm of possibility after all. Seina Yamada from Tenchi Muyo GXP did end up with ALL five of the girls though not by his choice. Poor kid~

I never got a chance to see GXP. Is it really worth my money?

I can purchase 2/3 of the series at GameStop for half the price, they have a buy 2 get 1 free deal over there. Each GXP dvd cost 10 bucks, and they got 4 volumes of the series there.

I also want to check out the other spin-off, Tenchi Ryo-oh-ki. Why the series is named after everyone's favorite cabbit, has me puzzled o_O. I just know that they're introducing a new girl to the household who wants to marry Tenchi(hopefully that information is correct, I just glaced at the summary behind volume 1).

Other than that, I'm still hunting for some Tenchi in Tokyo DVD's, because my VHS copies are too ancient ^^;.

To be honest I can't believe how much I'm enjoying this show. No one is more surprised than me you can be sure of that. I love all of the charcters (some thing VERY rare for me) and it's actually a very funny show, Ryoko of course egts all the best lines. I plan on renting the last two OVA discs and then tenchi forever, to see how it all ends up. I might rent the three spin offs but I will wait until I'm done with the OVA and movie first.

Groann, I had been watching Tenchi when I was 7 or 9. (now 14) They took it off cartoon network and I never saw it again. All I remember is this finally episode thing (I think it was final) where they were at this tree nature ship thing and there was a big fight and Tenchi was this prince and they all had some really cool action scenes. The rest is a blurr except that I loved the show. But I will still say as I remember to from back then, I wanted Ryoko and Tenchi to be together. Oh ya I remember there was this bossy girl who was a princess, Tenchi was a prince, and Ryoko was a space pirate with this little rabbit thing. The rabbit thing rocked...Oh ya, and up at the top of the screen where it says Anime forum dot com, is that Ryoko, it seems to look like her from my memory. If not who is it?
