I think that none of those squares are needed, and also, the rectangles that are on the upper-right corner aren't needed.
Also, the border should be removed.
Maybe make the text less opaque too.
Besides that, looks awesome.

Edit: in the second one where it shows only the top half of the chars., they seem to be a bit pixilated. try to fix that up.

I wouldn't say pixelated, I would say that it just needs cleaning up a bit. I like the second one best. The girls are cleaner and crisper. ^_^

i think the version with the larger picture is a bit better too, though it seems slightly empty in my opinion (though that's just me) and like ____ said, the characters are kinda roug mainly around the edges. try cleaning that up and it'll probably look even better.

Mmm... No, I was talking about the shapes and the text. Try to make those more transparent. I think that a 40% opacity for the shapes will do it, and for the text, maybe somewhere around 55... Don't know, experiment and see what happens.
