Heero, Kira, or Shinn?

Whom doth ye prefer? Everyone knows Heero and Kira, but Shinn is the pilot of ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam, he is also the main character of Gundam SEED Destiny. This may be unfairly biased in favor of Heero and Kira... but no matter...

I would have to say Kira is the best, because he fights off multiple Gundams, multiple times. Not to mention that his Gundam girl is the best of them all I think. Only bad thing is his early naivety (not sure on spelling) in getting used by Fllay. And did you SEE that first scene at the battle of Alaska where ZGMF-X10A Freedom makes its appearance? It blows all other Gundams (except maybe Wing ZERO Custom and GX-9901 Double X) away. And he is one of the few Gundam pilots that seems to have a conscience about killing.

That was smart, since most people don't know who he is, unfortunately. I think he is the coolest among any Gundam pilot coz he has no special powers. I just tries his best and gets the job done. And it helps when you have a mecha as cool as the Double-X. I think another good discussion for here would be better mecha: Wing Zero Custom, Freedom Gundam or Gundam Double-X. IN that case I would say Gundam Double-X coz of the Twin Satellite Cannons.

Myself i've always prefered Heero not only cos he uses Wing Zero (which is my fav gundam outta all the series i've seen so far), but cos he has no actual care for his own life which makes for some interesting moments with him (self destructing without a second thought and using wing zeros buster rifle in the endless waltz when he's so damaged it destroys zero)

Of course it made sense, it had no REAL plot-line. It was very thin in that regard. SEED has some plot and some plot-twists, making it more intrellectual than Wing. Also, I never understood how someone who cares nothing for their own life could win in a life or death battle. Maybe that is just me.

I prefer a character that does not show weak meaningless emotions. Kira is awesome, but he is too emotional. I like Heero because he does not display such needless emotion. It is a personal opinion of course, but still. I like Trowa and Athrun over Heero and Kira anyway.

I certainly like Trowa over Heero, and Athlun is very close to Kira. They are almost equal in ability. Sometimes emotions are good, sometimes not. I wonder if Heero even has emotion tho.

If he didn't like Relena, he would have let her die/killed her. I think his threats to kill her are because she is making him feel something that confuses him... love. He sees it as a distraction, but somehow can't bring himself to get rid of her.

Well, after watching the SEED episode "Flashing Blades", I came to appreciate the entire series (and Nicol as well) a great deal more. My favorite pilot is still Trowa, but I like Kira as well. As emotional as he is, at least he finally made the decision to fight.
Another great Gundam pilot would be Shiro Amada. I mean, how many people could best a souped-up Zaku with a mere Ball? That took skill. I like his attitude as well; he doesn't fight to kill, only to discover his true self.

Well the opening sequence in Gundam SEED Destiny heavily hints at a Kira/Shinn battle. I pray that such a duel will come to pass.

Amen to that man. That will be awesome, since I cannot think of another situation in which two Gundam protagonists squared off. If such a battle does take place, who has the advantage? I go with Kira just based on his past experience, and I just don't think the Impulse compares to the Freedom.

Indeed. I also believe that ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam is superior to ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam. However, by the time Kira and Shinn get an opportunity to fight each other, Shinn may have acquired a superior Gundam.
I bet Kira and Shinn fight shortly after Shinn learns that it was Kira who was in the Gundam Battle that killed his family... That is my prediction.
Keep in mind I've yet to see episode four though, I shall be seeing it tonight...

If there is a battle between the two, Gundam series logic indicates that there wil be an upgraded Gundam coming for Shinn about half way through the show. But the fact that Freedom is still considered in the conversation, means it is totally awesome :)

Heero was very interesting. He was a soldier first always putting the mission before anything or anyone else, that is until Relena captured his heart. He was able to pilot any Gundam or Mech and he piloted them the best. His only rival was Zechs when it came to battling and he beat him in the end. He just rocks! :rolleyes:

I loved Duo!! I thought that he was one of the most enjoyable characters in the show. :D I like Hilde and Duo's relationship too. There actually would be whole episodes about each of the other characters other than Heero. And I have Book that gives the pasts of each primary character and Duo's is very interesting. His Deathscythe rocks too!! :)

between Kira and Heero is tough... Heero definately wins in terms of coolness but I always liked Kira had a sort of an amusing hero who doesn't want to be a hero going for him. Both had a bit of tragicness about them and both are at their core tender hearted... though heero has long masked this part of him by the time he appears in the anime. But in the end I think I like heero a bit better.

But between Heero and Kira I pick Kira Yamato. In Gundam Seed i didn't like him that much and prefered Asran Zala (I hope i got it right) because of his determination while Kira was always crying and blaming everyone else for the his fighting. But later on when he realized who he wants to be, and wanting to protect his friends he got my vote. I especially liked him in Gundam Seed Destiny.

Well I never did actually vote here.

Out of those three choices I would choose Shin Asuka, and for real reasons too. The main one being he actually has *gassp* REAL CHARACTER FLAWS. Yes, not some half done whining like Kira, or Heeros emotionless attitude when it was convenient but yet still normal when it wasn’t.

Shinn had a real struggle and took a wrong turn, blindly following an ideology he genuinely believed in. Yes, according to what Fukuda (who should never be allowed to write a Gundam EVER again) wrote it was the “wrong path”. But that is entirely subjective. And until he was written out to accommodate Kira as the main character (and thus completely ruin the show) Shinn was actually very well written and surprisingly three dimensional for a Cosmic Era character. After that he was only the hero when Kira wasn’t around.

Kira in Destiny really really really ticked me off. His very presence completely ruined the show. He took over as the main character. Yet, for some unknown reason they decided to give him NO STRUGGLE. All he ever did was fly around like a divine avenger who was always right and blow stuff up. Sure that makes for good action, but in a long-winded story like Destiny that gets VERY DULL, very fast. At least Athuran was pining for Cagali the whole time. It may have been annoying but at least it gave Athuran a dimension. Kira just flew around spouting his BS the whole time.

So I vote for Shinn, because he was the most realistic and deep character of the trio. The fact that you hated him and got annoyed at his angry antics just proves how well written he was. Because, in reality, somebody as bitter as Shinn would really get on your nerves.

Umm... hello I'm new here and I just can't help post to a nice thread.
Anyway although everyone has his and her own opinions about things I would like to say Heero would be the best for me. Those who have read the manga of GW like Blind Target would have clear understanding of what GW is all about. Heck if you include G-Unit I think GW has more to offer than most anyone knows. As for Kira yamato... His abilities are just comparable to New types like that of Amuro and Char, Shinn on the other hand is still under experienced and for some unknown reason he seems to be always out of the spot light every time Kira shows up. Now Kira may Be the "Ultimate Coordinator" but Heero can be called an "Ultimate Natural", If we do not include Domon of G-Gundam since that series is really... Unnatural.

Kira was Genetically Enhanced but as mention in the series Coordinators has eventually reached their limits. Its like the Law of Evolution. While Heero keeps on Evolving. Now I wont go on to more details since explaining What a "Real Coordinator" is would take so long.

Anyway as for their Respective Gundams... If you have watched Turn-A's ending then you would know which Gundam is really better in terms of Technology since in Turn-A The possible future are SEED, G-Gundam and GW universe...

Yes, I agree. I personally favor those who show little emotion (Heero) over those who show much emotion (Kira). That's why I like Heero better than Kira. However, I would have to say that Kira's piloting abilities surpasses Heero's... but that's just my opinion ^-^

I chose Shinn cause he is bloody awesome! Sure, he may be hot-headed and all but considering the times and the fact that he grew up a lot with memories of his slaughtered family then I can sympathise with him. He is, as well, a great piolot that defeated Kira's Freedom in a gundam that was out-classed by it and though he may have a hard outside he seems soft on the inside...proven by the fact that he was emotionally crushed by Stellar's death . His anger comes from the fact that some people like me found it easier to show anger than sadness in times of grief in an atempt to hide what we may precieve to be "weakness". I have grown out of that a bit but a soldier in war like Shinn aught to find that hard.

1.He is my favorite gundam character ever.

3.Shinn is a wuss and can't fight at all except when he is in beserker mode.
