I haven't seen the anime version yet but i have read some of the manga and I think it's a pretty good manga. I like Miaka cause she's cute and Hot at the same time.

LOL, well both the anime and manga are pretty cool. The first vol for the anime was just released not too long ago in the U.S. I was about to check it out for myself and get it, but I'm still waiting for the Inuyasha 1st movie to come out!

ive only read the manga, but ive been meaning to getting around and watching the anime.yu watase writes such good stories (my favorites being ayashi no ceres and alice 19th) and her male characters are so hot! toya&yuhi (ceres) and kyo&frey(alice19th) are my favorites ^^

Fushigi Yuugi is a really cute anime for romance I love the manga and the anime both. My favorite character is Miaka for some reason. I don't know I guess it's because she reminds me of my friend. :mellow:

Fushigi yugi used to be one of my favorite romances, and i love romances most of all. The drama of it was the fact that all the great charecters had to die. As happy as I was when they got brought back in the end, it kind of ruined the drama of the seires. Of course I love happy endings, so even though less sad, i like the series how it is. As for manga i only got up to vol 4 so far.

Yu watase is a really good manga writer. Her stories actually make me feel jealousy and sympathy for the characters.

What I like about it so much is the characters. Personally I can't stand Tamahome, but most of them are endearing in one way or another. And the villains too, in being made more human than most stories.

Honestly I never thought I'd like it as much as I did, but it's most addictive ;p Just HAD to see the whole thing. Though I would have liked less of Tamahome and a different voice for Miaka. But hey *shrug*

Oh, and it contains one of my favorite anime endings.

I'm a huge fan of this series. Both manga and anime. I just can't even explain why I love it so much, maybe partly because it's very addictive because of all the cliffhangers, but also it's just so sweet and I'm just a big romantic at heart.

Fushigi Yuugi made me cry thats why I don't buy the anime. Its so sad. I think half of the Suzaku warriors died.Over half. But you know.. something being sad is really memorable.
Besides, the most crying I did over this series was at the very end.. and it was the good kind. ~_^

Metal_Knuckles, Fushigi Yuugi is an anime about a girl who goes into the enchanted world of a book. Um...think Neverending Story (dear god, I hope you're old enough to know what I'm talking about)... Anyway, in the book she becomes the priestess of a country's beast god. It's filled with pretty boys and romance and angst.

I love Fushigi Yuugi! It's my fav apart from Inuyasha.

Nakago is my favorite, and so is Tasuki! Tamahome gets on my nerves a bit...but he is a bit amusing. XD

The story is amazing! The characters are the coolest! ^_^ I have cried while reading the mangas...u.u...and if it can make ME cry, it's a darn good anime! ^_^

Yeah, this was one of my earliest anime loves. I own all of the anime (both seasons, and the two different OVAs), and some of the manga. Tasuki was always my favorite, with Nuriko and Hotohori tied in second. Tamahome was much cooler before he fell for Miaka, though...meh.

I watched it all a long time ago, and now I'm collecting it as it's being re-released. Although Geneon is a little slow about it. My favourite character, by far, is Chichiri, but I also really love Soi. And Nuriko, Tasuki, and Hotohori. Miaka is actually the only Watase lead that I don't really like that much. She's just too... naive. She's almost a parody of the word. I wouldn't call her an idiot, but she is close. And her whole on-again-off-again thing with Tamahome (even though they still love each other so much) gets really annoying.

I admist that hotohori is hot too but he jsut looks like a girl to me sometimes so I prefer Nakago ^_^. Anyways, Hotohri ended up with a wife anyways. His wife looks a LOT like Nuriko....hehehe. yay! some Fushigi Yuugi fans! ... this is one of my favorite anime of all time... :laugh: because it combines my three favorite genres of anime; romance, comedy and action... My favorite character is Nuriko because he's funny, and really cares about his friends/family. Some people can say he's gay, but they just have to understand his story... :rolleyes: ... hMm~ I own the Uni and Eikoden dvd set (thanks to my bf^^) It's what happens right after the Seiryu box set. quite lovely. ^__^ i LOVE this anime! :D

And Nuriko was gay, hon. There's nothing wrong with that. Besides, characters like that are quite common in shoujo manga and anime because shounen-ai and yaoi are incredibly popular amongst the female population over there (and rapidly growing in popularity over here, too! ^_^). Anyway, understanding his past and such doesn't change the fact that he loves Hotohori. He's one of my favorite characters, too. As I think I mentioned already...heh.
