First of all let me get this out there for all to know! I did not either draw this, make any changes to this or scan this drawing myself; the only reason I upload it now is for some help. I really like this scan and would really like some ideas on what to do with it. I know, I know I could extract it-- but! Were I to do that, I'd ruin the flow of the initial image and without the image in it's relative entirety- it's kinda pointless. So, short of extracting it, can I get some ideas on what to do to this?

Or maybe someone would like to go in with me on this and do something with it together?

you *could* extract it, but then re-create the background. Another option would be to build around the background (add on to it by drawing in the rest). you could also go for the good ol' "photograph" approach. i.e. make it a photograph onto a larger background.

I thought about that but then I decided that it was too played out.

I think the most viable option is going to be to recreate the area around her from scratch or trace a stock photo one then turn it sepia tone.

with the exception of the telephone pole, it doesnt appear all that difficult to redraw the bg.

I find it real pretty expeacially the umbrulla so extract it and redraw the bg.

Lol. I thought I remembered Xian saying besides extracting?

Oh well. I was thinking maybe you could align it right, cut it diagonaly and invert it or change the color of the upper left side of the bg? It would keep the bg, the idea of the umbrella, and it would add a twist, more color, and an effect. I don't know, it was the only idea I could think of.
