Where the fsck did you get that scan?! Wish I had a scanner cause I'd be a Negima AKA Hinata Potter, scanning fool. Is it me, or is this gonna make a kick @ss anime? ^_^ I like the wall, but they seem to be floating a bit, how about a shadow of some kind?

The bg is good as it is, but the chars seems floating, take off that shadow-or-whathever-is behind the chars and make a "normal" shadow. The chars are also a bit grany, clear them and about the title, if it is posible (but it seems like part of the chars image) move it somwhere on the left side.

Anyway - I really dont like the text in the top left corner... It doesn't fit in good

No need to have a shadow behind them. I think a ground one would fit..so they look like they are standing on solid ground. ^^ Other than that it looks good. Also, the text at the left corner is plain.

ok, bottom shadow, text gone (though now it looks empty on the left side) wizzard, as for the title, its part of the scan, this is still in manga format so any color pictures for it are extremely limited.

About the shadow, maybe try to edit it so that only the chars have the shadow not the title :^_^:

It looks better now. All you have to do now is get rid of the graininess. I know it is empty on the left side now..so maybe add some sun rays to make it look not so empty...

Here's my advice; first, blur the background a little more, and then fade it heavily. Try a 50% opacity, maybe less. Reduce the size of the logo, and raise it, at it's current loc and size, it's going to get cut off by a menu bar, unless the user is using a Mac. Finally, I'd get rid of the shadows.

The extraction is pretty good, but the background just doesn't fit too well, and it's not very original. Come on, be creative and go crazy!

bg doesnt go with the characters? im not sure what you know about the manga but the boy is a teacher and the girl is a student (most of the manga takes place at the school) so i cant think of anything more fitting :P . and about getting rid of the shadows, ive got 1 person saying not to have them and the rest saying to keep them, its all about a persons preference. As for part of the pic being cut off by the taskbar, your assuming everyone keeps their bar on the bottom, i used to assume that everyone had icons on their desktop and would advise people not to put images on the left, but i myself have switched to an icon free desktop.

edit: also, sometimes people just need a little K.I.S.S.

it looks a lot better, but it looks like the guy with the staff is floating a little...but its raised to a 8/10 keep it up man ;)
