View Full Version : Much Improved Favorite Evangelion Character Poll
Mightier Than The Sword

Rei is my personal favorite, and the last poll seemed to beleive that she was not in fact a character, so here's my much improved poll...
...Funny how I can much improve a poll by adding one name.
EDIT: As of now, it seems that 100% of people have voted for Rei. Therefore, Rei must be everyone's favorite character!
Improving a poll by adding one name and skewing statistics. I sound like a politician. I'll have to work to clear my name.

Absolutely true. Also, if you'd care to check out my "What I Learned from Evangelion" topic, I'd say 50% - 75% of the items there were learned from Rei.
Edit: I mainly added Pen-Pen because I just knew that I would end up ticking off tons of people if I didn't. Pen-Pen, while cute, is rather inconsequential to the plot.

True true.
but in truth we all know that it wouldnt be a proper anime without the random pointless cute character would it?

True, very true. I mean, Pokemon was filled with cute and pointless characters, and look how well it did.

Well, Princess Ai never did like Rei...
Personally, Rei is my favorite character, but I have not seen the whole series as of yet.

heh... well as far as the fighting in the EVAs goes, I like Asuka, but when it comes to the actual person, I'd definitely say Rei. She is just too cool.

Exactly, shes a normal woman with having such a messed up childhood, sure she hates her father but who doesn't, we'll never know why, maybe he was having sex with another woman, we'll never find out, oh wait we did! lmao

Lol, i gotta say Asuka is probably my second fave ^_^ whos your Black?
I like Misato because she's a character with a good balance of goofiness and maturity. She can take control in a situation or lose control at a party. I also like Rei, the girl who spawned an entire new type of character in anime, the emotionless albino girl (as seen in about 2 dozen series over the last seven years).

She was my first to begin with till i learnt of her state of mind and etc... the "ID" part of physcology, but shes 2nd i guess then?

I'd probably say Rei. All of the characters in Eva have different problems, and none of them are much more messed up than each other, but Shinji looks kinda like a monkey (i've actualy nothing against his personality, but monkeys earn empathy only, not favorite-position), and Asuka makes me think of bratty children.
So, while Rei's "maturity" isnt real maturity, but more of a forced act resulting from her personal problems, she is still a pretty cool character, and the one that seems to percieve events the clearest, even if she doesnt always fully understand them.
So, yeah. Yay Rei! :)
Oh... and It's Id, not ID. Not a huge difference, but since you were supposed to beta god knows how many pages of stuff that says all the basics like that i'd kinda expected you to know, Black Death. (yay for freudian psychodynamics that had absolutely no substantiating evidence during the time of its hypothesisation that wasnt forged or extremely open to criticism yet still manages to create a very good general basis for percieving the functions of the human mind! :))

Shinji, because i could relate to him in the beginning and he's just really cool.
