my third work
(extraction seems near useless when id doesnt get rid of everything its supposed to, went pixel by pixel and removed the garbage and white spots from around her.)

Drop the opacity on the BG character. It takes away from the foreground too much. Other than that, how about a motion blur to break up the sharp edges of the BG?

Hm, agree with Xian Pu. I'd also try with monotoning the bg char (thought not sure if it will work).

I am not too fond of the texture there that is covering her. You should bring her to the front of it.

somthing like... this?
06-22-2004, 01:51 PM
yea and maybe fade it just a bit. It looks better. One more thing the bigger image of her is really jagged and rough..might want to fix that.

Drop the opacity some and try either an overlay or soft focus light on the BG character. Almost got it. :)

hrmmm, maybe something like this then? unfortunately i think that peoples eyes are naturally drawn to larger objects.

I still say drop the opacity some more. Say to about thirty five forty percent.

I like it!!! then again I liked the first one too
06-22-2004, 11:32 PM
Muuuuch better. Still, that BG is a little TOO bumpy... Hmmm... Gaussian blur?
06-23-2004, 12:39 AM
the BG character or the BG itself?
06-23-2004, 12:42 AM
The BG itself.
06-23-2004, 12:56 AM
well i was intentionally going for the bumpiness effect, but were you thinking something more like this?

06-23-2004, 01:14 AM
I like the second. The little bit of texture is better.
06-23-2004, 01:55 AM
The second one definately. ^_^

Good work Weyrdragon, you're improving ^_^
ok about textures: imho textures are similar to cloud filters and lens flare... I mean they are a bit too overused and simple to make...I don't like them so much  ;)
anyway: try to use not much text, a line only with her name is enough . Your bg it's a little empty, so what do you think about moving the bg chara more to the left? you can increase her opacity if she's monotone..try a 70% :)
06-23-2004, 03:18 AM
wow...thats good....beates the new one i just finished and put up...here it is...
06-23-2004, 03:52 AM
I personally prefer the satin look as demonstrated here...
06-23-2004, 03:53 AM
and this is what i think akachan wants to see :P
06-23-2004, 05:25 AM
anyway the image on the bg it's a little too pixelate...I can give you an advice for making a particular effect for that bgpic ( I have a particular name for that effect, I don't know how the others call it :D ) :
1. duplicate the bg pic.
2.leaving the lower one in the same place as the upper, blur it of a 3-4 point(gaussian blur)
3.now play on the upper one with the levels( 4ex: upper level:normal 50%, color burn 60%--> I love the color burn combination :^_^: ,lighten, screen, overlay....)
I hope this could help you :)
06-23-2004, 03:34 PM
GOD THIS AND THAT!!! ARG!! j/k :P something like this?
06-23-2004, 03:41 PM
Well actually now you can...
Looks good. ;)
