How Do You Install Filters On Photoshop 7?

Okay, how do you do it? None of the online tutorials that I dredge up seem to do any good but offer you some crappy filters that are like ten years out of date; same goes with the installation procedure. Can someone break it down in simple and easy to understand terms? Please, thank you and is there a sticky on this? If so would someone direct me to it?

once you find a plug in you like and download it. you'll probably end up with an executable file or a zipped file. executables you just run and when it asks where it's going, find the "plug-ins" folder in your Photoshop directory (it should already exist). let the exe run itself and there should be a new folder in the plug-ins folder. with a zipped file you just unzip the whole set to the plug-ins folder. start up photoshop and you should have your new filter/filter set at the bottom of your list of filters
